Term 2, Week 5

Welcome to another week in paradise! I hope everyone had a great weekend (in isolation or not!). QUOTE OF THE WEEK: IMPORTANT REMINDERS THIS WEEK: 1. National Sorry Day - Thursday 2. Band and Friends busking (8am) - Friday, Entrance of school 3. Biggest Morning Tea for Cancer- Friday (bring some coins) 4. Free Dress for Leeuwin - Friday NAPLAN: Well done to all of the students for completing their tests over the past 2 weeks. If your child missed any of the NAPLAN assessments, some catch up sessions have been organised by Mr Torrese this week.  BIGGEST MORNING TEA: This Friday OLC will be hosting a morning tea for cancer. It will be held at 10:30am and students are asked to bring $1-$2 coins to purchase yummy treats.  Happy Mother's Day! I hope all of the mothers out there had a great day yesterday and felt loved and appreciated.  Just a quick couple of reminders for the week. CASUALS FOR CATHOLIC DAY:  Tomorrow is Casuals for Catholics Day. If your child would like to participate and wear casual clothes please send in a gold coin donation with your child. Please note that the children will have sport during the day. NAPLAN: NAPLAN begins this week. The students will sit the writing assessment tomorrow and the reading assessment on Wednesday. Conventions of Language and Numeracy will be on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. All tests will be completed during the morning session before morning tea. Please ensure that your child comes to school with a charged laptop and a full bottle of water.  LAPTOPS: A number of students required their laptops to be charged today. Can you please remind your child that they need to charge their laptop over night, ready for the next day. HOMEWORK: As mentioned

Hello to the parents and students of 5J! It's been awhile, but it's great to be back! Although I was really getting used to this no working gig 😏  I wanted to say a massive thank you to Mrs Coltrinari for stepping up to the plate and setting up the students for the rest of the year.  There will be some minor changes in the way things are run which I will outline below.  I look forward to meeting you all over the coming weeks, so if you are on campus, come in and introduce yourself. QUOTE OF THE WEEK: TIMETABLE: There have been some slight changes to the timetable, however, sport days remain the same. HOMEWORK: Your child will receive a reading log and a Times Table activity to complete each week. Home work will run from Tuesday to Tuesday rather than the conventional Monday to Friday. This gives your child some time on the weekend to catch up on some reading or Times Tables if they weren't able to complete everything during the week (due to after school activities or pick
