Term 4, Week 8

 Hi everyone, I had envisioned this blog being sent out last week but due to some internet problems, I wasn't able to upload some photos and videos from the excursion. The problem has been fixed now so here we go.  Only a couple of weeks left of what seems to be a year that has flown by so quickly. I don't quite know where the year has gone, but I am sure that everyone is looking forward to spending the holidays with loved ones and seeing 2020 out on a high!  IMPORTANT REMINDERS: Year Six Graduation - Friday 4th December International Day of Disabilities - Thursday 3rd December End of Year Christmas Concert - Tuesday 8th December (Further details to come) Colour Run/Last Day of Term 4 - Friday 11th December.  G'day everybody! Super proud of the class today (and Wilko) after they presented the Remembrance Day service with such maturity and reverence. Please congratulate your child when they get home. Just a couple of important messages this week regarding the cricket this Friday and our excursion next Monday. CRICKET BLASTERS CARNIVAL On Friday 13 th  November (this week)  the Year 5 and 6 classes  will be travelling to Bovell Oval in Busselton for an Interschool Cricket Carnival.  The day  allows local schools to come together and participate in a round-robin competition. Students play a modified game of  cricket , where each player gets to bat, bowl and field during each game.  We will leave on the bus at 8.45am and return to school by 2pm. Can you please ensure your child is wearing their Sport uniform (Sports polo NOT faction shirts) on this day. They must bring a hat, sunscreen, recess, lunch and a water bottle in their SCHOOL bag.  Welcome to Melbourne Cup week!   IMPORTANT REMINDERS: First Eucharist - Sunday 8th November at 10am at Our Lady of the Southern Cross Church. All Year 4 students are expected to attend to support their classmates making their First Eucharist. Year Five J Remembrance Day Service -  Wednesday 11th November  Year 5 Excursion - Monday 16th November Pupil Free Day - Monday 23rd November Year 6 Musical - Friday 27th November. International Day of Disabilities - Friday 4th December End of Year Christmas Concert - Tuesday 8th December (Further details to come) Colour Run/Last Day of Term 4 - Friday 11th December. MERIT AWARD WINNERS: Congratulations to Taya McMaster for receiving last week's merit award. STEM PROJECT: Over the next couple of weeks, groups should be getting together and experimenting the best reaction that will propel their bottle car the required metre. Last week, we had a session where we discussed and watched some videos of people combining some of the solids and liquid
