Term 4, Week 1

 Welcome back everybody!

I can't believe we are beginning the final term of the year already. Before we know it, the current Year Fives will be leading the school next year in their final year of primary school. It was great to see their leadership skills on display during the Mission Markets on the last day of term.

I hope you all had a great break. I managed to hit the road and headed up to Karijini and then back to the coast via Exmouth and Coral Bay. The North West is an amazing place and I can't wait to head up
there again.

STAR CITIZEN

Congratulations to Madi Rogan for receiving the Star Citizen for respect at the end of last term.

Numeracy

This week, we will be reviewing coordinates and moving into directions - using a compass and reading maps.

English

We have been really lucky to get some new sets of novels in the library, so we will be experimenting with a 'Book Club' as part of our reading program for this term.

In writing, we will be focusing on completing our explanations this week before moving into a new genre of writing.

STEM

We finally completed our Bear Projects towards the end of last term. The students displayed some great learning in their presentations.

We have begun our new unit on solids, liquids and gases. The series of lessons will lead the kids into our next project where they will need to design and create a four-wheeled plastic bottle vehicle with an alternative 'fuel' source. I can't wait to see the final products.

Religion

We will be exploring the Eucharist as the Year Four classes prepare to receive the Sacrament.

Home Learning Grid

The home learning grid will be uploaded to One Note and will begin this week.

Enjoy the week!

Until next time, choose kind...

Mr Jones
