 G'day everybody!

Super proud of the class today (and Wilko) after they presented the Remembrance Day service with such maturity and reverence. Please congratulate your child when they get home.





Just a couple of important messages this week regarding the cricket this Friday and our excursion next Monday.



CRICKET BLASTERS CARNIVAL


On Friday 13th November (this week) the Year 5 and 6 classes will be travelling to Bovell Oval in Busselton for an Interschool Cricket Carnival. The day allows local schools to come together and participate in a round-robin competition. Students play a modified game of cricket, where each player gets to bat, bowl and field during each game. 

We will leave on the bus at 8.45am and return to school by 2pm. Can you please ensure your child is wearing their Sport uniform (Sports polo NOT faction shirts) on this day. They must bring a hat, sunscreen, recess, lunch and a water bottle in their SCHOOL bag.

A permission note (with more information) was sent home regarding this on Monday, so if you haven’t already, please fill out and return ASAP.


EXCURSION:  CAPE CULTURAL EXPERIENCE

Next Monday, the 16th of November we will be heading outdoors for a wonderful day of learning about the history of Cape Naturaliste.  

The children are to wear their Sports Uniform and bring a daypack (or school backback if you don't have a smaller sized backpack) with their crunch and sip, recess and lunch.  

Please ensure they have a FULL water bottle packed.  

It would also be helpful if they pack a small pencil case for the day (with pen, rubber and coloured pencils), rather than them having to carry their large school ones.  

Please ensure they have their school hat packed and sunscreen on before leaving home.  We will take extra with us to reapply throughout the day. 

We will be leaving school by bus at 9:00a.m. so please ensure your child is punctual.  

A big thank you to the Fee or Marty Chandler for offering their time to join us on the excursion. I am still looking for 2 more volunteers, so if this sounds like something that you would like to be involved in, please let me know.

Movie Day

 KAYA,  Welcome to the final week of 2023! MOVIE DAY REWARD The Year Five classes will be joining forces and watching a movie together on Thursday. A student from 5J has used all of their Banqer money to purchase the 'Movie Buff' reward. This reward allows them to choose 5 movies to put forward to the parents for approval. If all are approved, they make the final decision for what we watch on Thursday. IF YOU HAVE ANY OBJECTION TO ANY OF THE MOVIES LISTED BELOW, PLEASE EMAIL ME BEFORE CLOSE OF BUSINESS ON WEDNESDAY (TOMORROW) AND I CAN REMOVE THAT MOVIE FROM THE LIST.  PLEASE NOTE THAT THEY ARE ALL RATED 'PG'. 1.   Kaya Team 5J, Winter is here!  I hope you had a great long weekend, whether it was out and about or sitting cozy next to the fire.  QUOTE OF THE WEEK IMPORTANT DATES ( more information can be found on the school website)  8th June: Winter Sports Carnival - Hay Park, Bunbury 15th June:  OLC Cross Country Carnival 16th June:  Year 3-6 Dance Concert - 11am WINTER CARNIVAL The 2023 Winter Sports Carnival is on this Thursday at Hay Park, Bunbury. Looks like there will probably be some rain during the day, so please remind your child to pack a towel. Might see you out there if you are coming along to support the OLC teams. JUNIOR MASTER CHEF   This term, we have been learning about fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates and fibre, and how they affect the human body. The students will now begin to design a 3 course meal for a particular season (Summer or Winter) in the South West.  A requirement of this project is for your child to prepare one of the dishes on their menu at home
