Dear Parents, In this gorgeous chaos that is childhood, I just want to take the time to tell you that on a daily basis your children make my heart gleam with pride.  Led by Ollie, the children have started a charity stall, selling loom band bracelets, drawings, origami paper wallets and various other creative craft. So far they have raised over a whopping $110, all of which has been donated to charitable causes such as Timor-Leste, possum rehabilitation, Heart-kids and Project Compassion. The children also regularly collect fresh peppi leaves and grevilias from the school gardens to feed our possum friends Charli and Lola. Kiana hand-stitched a soft, snuggly pillow for the possum babies.... and I catch them countless times a day extending that same kindness and generosity to each other in the classroom.     The most transformative things in life start at its simplest. Operation Christmas Child / Home Learning

 Hi team, Just a quick blog post regarding 'Operation Christmas Child' and 'Home Learning'. OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD You would have received a handout last week explaining the following: All the children in Year Five will soon  participate in  'Operation Christmas Child' which is an initiative with the goal of packing shoeboxes full of little surprises to give to a child who may have never received a gift before. By participating in this, our children will have a first hand experience aimed at building the school value of compassion.  Your child will be grouped with four other children to contribute and pack the shoe box. The cost to send a shoe box will be  $2.50 per child .  We are asking you to encourage your child to do something extra at home to earn the money that is needed to buy the item to put into the provided shoe box.   Welcome to Week 4 Parents!   I hope you all had a great weekend!    Affirmation of the Week:   IMPORTANT REMINDERS 1.      CONFIRMATION - Please keep the students from the Year Six class that are receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday night in your thoughts.   2.     NO PARENT OPEN NIGHT – Due to Covid-19, the parent open night evening scheduled for Week 6 has been cancelled.   3.     DIGITAL LEARNING JOURNEYS – In light of there being no parent night this year, we will be focusing on uploading a number of work samples to our personal learning journeys on One Note so that you all can sit down with your child and reflect on their learning-to-date.
