Winter is here! I hope you had a great long weekend, whether it was out and about or sitting cozy next to the fire.

WINTER CARNIVAL
The 2023 Winter Sports Carnival is on this Thursday at Hay Park, Bunbury. Looks like there will probably be some rain during the day, so please remind your child to pack a towel. Might see you out there if you are coming along to support the OLC teams.
JUNIOR MASTER CHEF
This term, we have been learning about fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates and fibre, and how they affect the human body. The students will now begin to design a 3 course meal for a particular season (Summer or Winter) in the South West.
A requirement of this project is for your child to prepare one of the dishes on their menu at home so that they can take pictures for their presentation (see below).

The children will then present their 3 course meal to the rest of the class in the form of a 'Speaking and Listening' challenge. Presentations will be in Week 9.

A Note from Mrs Haines regarding Dance for Term 2:
DANCE CONCERT INFORMATION
The OLC Dance
Concert is coming up- WEK 8 Friday 16th June, starting at 11am. The
theme for the Years 3-6 classes is Circus (only year 3 – 6 students are
performing in the concert). If your child will be away on this day, please
email ellie.haines@cewa.edu.au as soon as possible.

5J: MOTOR CROSS &
TORCHES
5J students are going to be the
‘motor cross’ performers at our circus! Please provide the following for your
child to bring on Friday, 18th June Week 8:
-All black ‘punk rock’ type of
outfit (leather jackets or bomber jackets are fab!)
-If able, boys wear hair in a
mohawk
-If able, girls wear hair in any
‘rockstar’ style hair they like (not in face though please)
-Any chains, belts, studded
accessories etc that are rocker style
-ALL STUDENTS NEED A SMALL
HANDHELD TORCH
-A BMX bike, scooter or skateboard
(for the boys and girls that have spoken to me)
-Black sneakers
