Yikes... that shady, shifty, surreptitious Week 10, sneaked up on me!

Dear Parents,

Swimming Tuesday 5th of April - We will be involved in swimming activities at Geographe Leisure Centre’s outdoor pool. Year 5 students will be departing school at 9.50am, and back around 1.15pm.

Students will need to bring goggles, rashie and towel with their bathers worn under sports uniform (faction colour polo shirts). Thongs are permitted to and from the pool. Please ensure everything is clearly labelled.

Please advise the school if your child will struggle to make 25m in the outdoor pool. There will be a novelty race for all students to enjoy.

The children are usually ravenous after swimming, perhaps pack and extra piece of fruit or muffin for them.

Please be advised that due to Covid restrictions, this day is for students only. No parents will be admitted.

Does life get any cuter than this...... thank you Lily-Eve, our hearts melted!

Week 8 and 9 merit award winners.......

Kye Godding

For your excellent Mathematics ability. It is amazing to see how quickly you mentally compute numbers in Times Tables shootout, and you have demonstrated a remarkable grasp of number operations. This, combined with your wonderful attitude towards all learning tasks and the way you consistently strive for excellence, makes you a worthy recipient of this merit award. Well done.

Darcy Archer

For being a responsible, considerate and well-mannered member of Year 5. Your focus, application and belief in your own abilities is reflected in the excellent progress you have made across all learning areas. It has been a pleasure teaching you this term Darcy.

Prayer wall and mural

To round off our unit on natural disasters and bushfires, the children each made a fire mandala, a prayer focus in our stand against the devastating environmental and human cost of bushfires. We created a prayer wall, with our mandalas surrounding / protecting a stunning mural incorporating our Year 5 Aboriginal totems, the native dianella and butterfly. We are the talk of the school.
My sincere thanks to the artists, Jordanna and Perri Hall, a lovely legacy to you both.

(I will be nagging Mr Jones to extend the mural!)

Busselton Festival of Triathlon

  • If your child is interested in participating, please access the following link to find out more information on how to register; SUNSMART KIDS TRIATHLON - Busselton Festival of Triathlon
  • We had some fantastic triathletes come to our school and speak to the students, so I have seen that many are feeling rather inspired.

Character strength of the week - Humility

"What does the Lord require of you, but to act justly, to love tenderly and to walk humbly with your God" Micah 6:8

Have a happy week, hang in there, it's nearly the holidays!

Warmly,
Anne
