Two weeks to go! I can't believe we're about to enter the festive season for 2022! Time really does fly...


IMPORTANT REMINDERS

7th December: Christmas Concert

8th December: CLEANING DAY (sports uniform) / End of year reward - Movie Day

9th December: Final Day / Year Six Graduation / Farewell Assembly / Colour Run 


ART WEDNESDAY

We have two art projects happening on Wednesday. The first will be run through our OLC 'artist in residence' initiative. Rebecca Cool will be working with the students to create some Christmas Cards. 

The second project, 'Portraits on Perspex', is being delivered by the talented Mrs Hall who has kindly
donated her time and skills to work with the kids.

A huge thank you to Rob for cutting the sheets into 60 A3 sized pieces for the project.

I'm looking forward to seeing the end pieces of both projects.

COULD YOU PLEASE SEND AN ART SHIRT OF SOME DESCRIPTION IN WITH YOUR CHILD ON WEDNESDAY


SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL COLLECTION
Each year at OLC we take time to be thankful for our blessings and to assist those local people in need by contributing to Christmas Hampers distributed by the St Vincent De Paul Society. We have a collection box in 5J and you are invited to contribute specified items. Please give generously to support others in what can be a difficult time of the year. Thank you to those that have already placed a donation in the box. 



Congratulations to Elsie Marsland, Xavier Hayhow and Ruby Wardrope for being awarded a Merit Award over the last couple of weeks. A big shout out to Noah Haynes for being presented with a Star Citizen for Excellence in Week 5. Well done legends!!

Movie Day

 KAYA,  Welcome to the final week of 2023! MOVIE DAY REWARD The Year Five classes will be joining forces and watching a movie together on Thursday. A student from 5J has used all of their Banqer money to purchase the 'Movie Buff' reward. This reward allows them to choose 5 movies to put forward to the parents for approval. If all are approved, they make the final decision for what we watch on Thursday. IF YOU HAVE ANY OBJECTION TO ANY OF THE MOVIES LISTED BELOW, PLEASE EMAIL ME BEFORE CLOSE OF BUSINESS ON WEDNESDAY (TOMORROW) AND I CAN REMOVE THAT MOVIE FROM THE LIST.  PLEASE NOTE THAT THEY ARE ALL RATED 'PG'. 1.   Kaya Team 5J, Winter is here!  I hope you had a great long weekend, whether it was out and about or sitting cozy next to the fire.  QUOTE OF THE WEEK IMPORTANT DATES ( more information can be found on the school website)  8th June: Winter Sports Carnival - Hay Park, Bunbury 15th June:  OLC Cross Country Carnival 16th June:  Year 3-6 Dance Concert - 11am WINTER CARNIVAL The 2023 Winter Sports Carnival is on this Thursday at Hay Park, Bunbury. Looks like there will probably be some rain during the day, so please remind your child to pack a towel. Might see you out there if you are coming along to support the OLC teams. JUNIOR MASTER CHEF   This term, we have been learning about fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates and fibre, and how they affect the human body. The students will now begin to design a 3 course meal for a particular season (Summer or Winter) in the South West.  A requirement of this project is for your child to prepare one of the dishes on their menu at home
