Term 2, Week 1
in a caravan for now (hopefully only a week or two
longer) before finally moving into the shapartment (shed - apartment). Managed to do my best Russell Coight impression on the weekend.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
Home learning is back on this week. Please continue to monitor your child as they complete their home learning grids and only sign it at the end of the week if you are satisfied that they have successfully completed all tasks. Please note that the 'Speak Out' task will be live this Term. Speeches will begin in the classroom on Friday of Week 3, so depending on when your child has been scheduled to present their speech will depend on when they choose to work on it at home. The students will be introduced to the Speak Out unit this Friday.
YEAR FIVE FUNDRAISER
Yesterday, you should have received a note in regards to the Year Five fundraiser - Cook book. Please get behind this and help out our lovely class reps. I managed to cook up a pretty tasty creamy chicken pasta last night (with leftovers!) so I am thinking that I may have to submit it for printing.
IN THE CLASSROOM
How good do our Autumn Reflections look?
We are focussing on our problem solving strategies over the next two weeks during our Mathematics lessons. We have already looked at the guess and check strategy and the make a table strategy. Drawing a picture, acting it out and finding a pattern or rule will be the strategies for the rest of the week. I will be including a problem to solve for home learning next week, so hopefully the students will be able to draw on these strategies to find the answer.
Until next time...
