Term 4, Week 7

Hi everybody!

I feel like it has been many moons since my last blog post. I thought I would include an update from the block. With the help of the in laws and a mini excavator, over 30 trees were given a new home in the ground. I also created a fourth garden bed for my veggies over the weekend!!! 




I wanted to say a big thank you to Mrs Coltrinari for continuing the teaching and learning in the classroom for the last five weeks. She did a fantastic job and I wish her all the best in her new career.

VINNIES HAMPER APPEAL
A massive thank you to those that have already donated some goodies, just a reminder that students in Year 4, 5 & 6 are being asked to donate Christmas Goodies: Chocolates, tinned fruit, non-perishable fruit juices, nuts, small gifts, pampering items, vouchers (K-Mart, coffee, etc).



YEAR FIVE END OF YEAR CONCERT DRESS

The theme for the end of year concert dress is ‘Casual Christmas Wear’. Christmas colours, t-shirts and Christmas accessories are all perfect for the occasion. The Year 5’s are also welcome to add some hip-hop flair to their outfit such as a cap backwards, sunnies on or even some bling around the neck! Please note that members of the choir and OLC Dance Crew are asked to wear white with any Christmas accessories they would like to add.

AGM

The AGM of the School Advisory Council and P&F will be held this Wednesday 24th November commencing at 6pm in the hall. All are welcome to attend, it would be great to see you there😊




Congratulations to Holland Sweet for receiving a Star Citizen Award for excellence!

Leadership Teams 2024 Please take the time to go through the different roles below and have a discussion with your child about what would be a great fit for them.  We will begin to create a one page CV tomorrow. Movie Day

 KAYA,  Welcome to the final week of 2023! MOVIE DAY REWARD The Year Five classes will be joining forces and watching a movie together on Thursday. A student from 5J has used all of their Banqer money to purchase the 'Movie Buff' reward. This reward allows them to choose 5 movies to put forward to the parents for approval. If all are approved, they make the final decision for what we watch on Thursday. IF YOU HAVE ANY OBJECTION TO ANY OF THE MOVIES LISTED BELOW, PLEASE EMAIL ME BEFORE CLOSE OF BUSINESS ON WEDNESDAY (TOMORROW) AND I CAN REMOVE THAT MOVIE FROM THE LIST.  PLEASE NOTE THAT THEY ARE ALL RATED 'PG'. 1.   Kaya Team 5J, Winter is here!  I hope you had a great long weekend, whether it was out and about or sitting cozy next to the fire.  QUOTE OF THE WEEK IMPORTANT DATES ( more information can be found on the school website)  8th June: Winter Sports Carnival - Hay Park, Bunbury 15th June:  OLC Cross Country Carnival 16th June:  Year 3-6 Dance Concert - 11am WINTER CARNIVAL The 2023 Winter Sports Carnival is on this Thursday at Hay Park, Bunbury. Looks like there will probably be some rain during the day, so please remind your child to pack a towel. Might see you out there if you are coming along to support the OLC teams. JUNIOR MASTER CHEF   This term, we have been learning about fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates and fibre, and how they affect the human body. The students will now begin to design a 3 course meal for a particular season (Summer or Winter) in the South West.  A requirement of this project is for your child to prepare one of the dishes on their menu at home
